Since its founding in 1983, the Driehaus Foundation has been a recognized leader in philanthropic circles, with a special concentration in several funding areas, specifically in and around Chicago. ESC was enabled by the Foundation to make our new Urgent Action Team service available to the Chicago area nonprofit community.

ESC’s funders and donors have a return-on-investment for underwriting our ability to serve our clients. Their contributions to ESC reinforce the impact and reach of their broader giving to organizations that serve people and communities all across the Chicago metropolitan region.

The support of our funders and donors combined with our volunteers’ annual donation of more than 23,000 hours of their time and services enables ESC to maintain project costs at the lowest possible level. Keeping our client fees far below market rates enables even the smallest organizations to benefit from the services we provide.
