The Chronicle of Philanthropy recently highlighted ESC's Leadership Institute as a smart idea in nonprofit management. The program prepares aspiring nonprofit executive directors and senior management to assume leadership roles.
The Leadership Institute is a collaborative program with the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) of Chicago, and aims to address leadership gaps as the boomer generation retires by preparing up-and-coming talent with practical nonprofit management and governance knowledge. Program participants are paired one-on-one with an ESC Coach and professional mentor, participate in monthly roundtable discussions where they hear first-hand from current Executive Directors, and complete a group capstone project that encourages them to think from the perspective of the corner office.
