OK, I spent 30+ years learning what it takes to make an organization succeed. Isn’t there some way I can put what I know to good use?

Yes! It’s called Executive Service Corps.

Fund Development Training

What is Executive Service Corps?

It’s a nonprofit consulting firm for nonprofits. It’s 250 volunteers who’ve seen it all in business, the professions or the nonprofit world. 250 volunteers who gave 21,000 hours last year to help more than 160 nonprofits, schools and governments improve performance and build capacity to serve their clients and communities.

How could I help?

ESC’s clients need your knowledge and experience now more than ever. Why waste what you know? As an ESC volunteer, you’ll join other leaders who have expertise, time and energy and are willing to share it. It’s a great way to keep up with changing trends, stay sharp, and use what you know. And you’ll get a great feeling working with your peers again, sharing opinions, swapping ideas, and knowing that what you know can make a real difference to others.

How does it work?

You’ll work as part of a consulting team, or as an individual coach, with a variety of organizations on projects like strategic planning, human resources, marketing and board development. If you choose, you may also want to staff an administrative volunteer position within ESC.

How do I become an ESC volunteer?

Call ESC at (312) 580-1840 or email us at info@esc-chicago.org. If you would like, you can email your resume to info@esc-chicago.org as well.  We’ll send you a no-obligation packet outlining the opportunities and responsibilities of volunteering, an application form and a skills checklist. When you return the completed forms, an ESC volunteer will contact you to set up a personal interview so ESC can get to know you and you can get to know ESC. If we decide to proceed, we’ll invite you to participate in the required training that includes Orientation, Consulting Skills Workshop and ESC 101. The training, which we offer three times a year, will help you: 1) shift from a management mind-set to a consultative mode, and 2) apply your knowledge to our client organizations. Building on your expertise, our training will prepare you to offer your experience, solutions and change to nonprofits across the Chicago region.

We look forward to hearing from you!
