Set in the midst of the greatest show on earth,
BARNUM follows the life of legendary entertainer and
circus-founder Phileas Taylor (P.T.) Barnum.
Exhilarating for all ages, BARNUM features
high-flying and stunning acrobatics, hilarious variety acts,
and puppetry. The musical score by Cy Coleman,
the famed Broadway and pop music composer,
and Michael Stewart includes toe-tapping melodies,
ballads, marches, and ragtime tunes, such as
"There's a Sucker Born Ev'ry Minute" and "Come Follow the Band".
The All-Star Cast of BARNUM:
|Starring Gene Weygandt as the colorful and exciting P.T. Barnum. Gene is a Chicago native and has appeared on Broadway and in TV and film. He's best known for the role of "The Wizard" in Wicked in Chicago and on Broadway.|
|Cory Goodrich as Charity Barnum, P.T. Barnum's wife. A four time Jeff Award nominee who won the award for her portrayal of "Mother" in Ragtime at Drury Lane Theatre.|
|Summer Naomi Smart as the "Swedish Nightingale" Jenny Lind. She made her Chicago debut in the first national sit-down production of Wicked, and received the Jeff Award for her portrayal of "Charity Hope Valentine" in Sweet Charity at Drury Lane Theatre.|

from The Actor's Gymnasium. A circus
and performing arts nonprofit, The Actor's Gymnasium
has worked with ESC as a client organization!
BARNUM was originally produced on Broadway
in 1980 and ran for 854 performances. It was nominated
for 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical,
Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score.
