JOIN ESC'S INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POOL
Executive Service Corps is recruiting highly experienced current and former Executive Directors interested in joining ESC's award winning Interim Executive Director service. Qualified candidates should apply by March 16, 2012 and those selected will take part in ESC's specialized training Wednesday, April 11 and Thursday, April 12, 2012.
What is ESC's Interim Executive Director service?
ESC's Interim Executive Director service matches highly experienced and specially trained nonprofit leaders with nonprofits undergoing organizational leadership transitions. An Interim Executive Director serves as an experienced, objective presence to bridge the critical transition gap between the departure of a leader and the identification of a new permanent Executive Director. They provide to nonprofits undergoing transition a strong and stable presence that can prepare the organization for change and keep it moving in the right direction during a period of potential uncertainty.
Ideal Candidates are:
- Nonprofit sector veterans with 10+ years experience in nonprofit management and 5+ years experience as Executive Directors;
- Confident when "riding the waves of chaos" - able to manage in an emotionally charged environment and turn potential for crisis into opportunity for positive change;
- Knowledgeable about all aspects of nonprofit operations;
- Comfortable with the transition process and able to work as a change agent;
- Able to engage in effective relationships with boards and staff.
Terms, Timing and Compensation
ESC's Interim Executive Director positions are strictly temporary, full or part-time, with an average engagement lasting 4-8 months. Interim Executive Directors are compensated by the client organization at rates determined on a project-by-project basis. The benefit to a nonprofit of having an Interim Executive Director is in their neutrality and objective perspective, thus Interim Executive Directors are NOT candidates for the permanent Executive Director positions.
